Question:
In case i’m being sued, how can I get a copy of my annual credit card report for free?I already got my annual free credit report, but they won’t work, and because of my bad credit I don’t even have a checking account or a credit card to pay for it.
Answer:
-You are not allowed to get a free credit report in the time you are being sued.I really don’t like the advice about signing up for credit, just go get rejected and qualify for a report. Why take the negative hits on it?Consider signing up to one of those “free” credit report services suchas http://www.freecreditreport.com… then cancel out within the first 30 days.
Another option is to file a dispute against your current report. By law, after it hasbeen “investigated” they must supply you with an updated report.
My question is why you are in such need to get a report so soon?
-No. you can go to a car dealership and ask someone to run it for you and they will definately show !
you the report, but remember that it doesn’t help you to keep doing it and it hurts your score.
-If you’re desperate, apply for a store’s credit card (Sears, Victoria’s Secret, Lowe’s, whatever). Since your credit is poor, you’ll be declined. They’ll send you a letter detailing why and at the bottom they have to offer information on how to get a free credit report (anytime you are denied credit you havethe right to know why). Naturally, the application will be a small mark against your credit, but not as bad as a late payment, and not too awful as long as you only do it once.
-You can’t get a free report by being sued. I agree, if you cannot afford or have no way to getyour reports, apply online for credit and get your free report after the denial.Nordstrom will pull Experian and Equifax reports when you apply for the Visa. They will pull yourExperian for the Visa and if you don’t qualify for that, they will pull your Equifax for the store card. Be sure to!
apply for the Visa and not the store card.Bank of America pul!
ls Trans
Union, so apply with themfor that report.Apply online. If it tells you to wait 7 to 10 days, call them the next day or the day after. When they tell you that you are denied, verify which credit bureau they pulled from. After you hang up from them, call the credit bureau and order your free (denial) report. You do not have to wait for the letter to find out if you were denied credit and you do not have to wait for the letter to call and get your free reports from the denial. You will take three hits on your reports, but they will be small hits and after 6 to 12 months will have no impact on your scores.
